Aiming to enhance energy efficiency, the Bureau of Energy intends to expand the regulatory scope of energy consumption standard and labelling scheme to include fans so as to reduce electricity loss. The proposed scheme applies to both imported products and domestically manufactured products. In addition to the scheme, the proposed technical regulations also specify the requirements of labelling and inspection, the conformity assessment procedures and the way to conduct post-market surveillance. Products that fail to conform to the requirements will be prohibited from being sold and placed on the domestic market.
