The requirements of the existing Israel Standard, SI 1003 part 3.1, dealing with the test methods for the release of lead and cadmium from glass hollowware, shall be declared mandatory. This declaration is in-line with the mandatory standardization objective to protect human health.

This standard adopts the International Standard ISO 7086-1 - Second edition: 2000-03-01 with a few changes that appear in the standard's Hebrew section.
