The notified Technical Regulation establishes the requirements to be met by the different types of cement, lime and gypsum for construction purposes, prior to the marketing of domestic and imported products, with the aim of protecting human safety and health and preventing misleading practices.

The notified Technical Regulation applies to the following products:

1          Portland cement;

2          Blended hydraulic cement;

3          Masonry cement;

4          Mortar cement;

5          Plastic cement for plaster;

6          Hydraulic cement;

7          Hydraulic hydrated lime for construction purposes

8          Hydrated lime for use in masonry;

9          Quicklime for structural purposes;

10        Gypsum for construction purposes.

It does not apply to: Cement and other binders for special purposes, such as cement for oil wells and epoxy cement.
