Petfood prepared from animal by-products

Decree No. 256 of the Government of Georgia, 2 June 2021, laying down amendments to the Decree No. 605 of the Government of Georgia, 29 December 2017, "On technical regulation – rules of approval of animal by-products (including animal waste) and derived products not intended for human consumption, of health and business operators related to this activities". This Decree defines import health certificate forms for petfood prepared from animal by-products for Georgia. Certificates entered into force on 1 October 2021.

Decree No. 605 is adopted under the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) agreement and was elaborated according to Commission Regulation (EU) No 142/2011 of 25 February 2011 implementing Regulation (EC) No 1069/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down health rules as regards animal by-products and derived products not intended for human consumption and implementing Council Directive 97/78/EC as regards certain samples and items exempt from veterinary checks at the border.
