Description of content: The notified Ecuadorian Technical Regulation establishes the requirements to be met by ice cream and ice cream mixes, prior to the marketing of domestic and imported products, with the aim of protecting human health and preventing deceptive practices.

It applies to the following products:

1.      Ice cream ready for consumption:

·           Dairy-cream ice cream;

·           Milk ice cream;

·           Ice cream made from milk with vegetable fat;

·           Yoghurt ice cream;

·           Ice cream made from yoghurt with vegetable fat;

·           Lactose-free ice cream;

·           Sorbet or "sherbet";

·           Fruit ice cream;

·           Ice cream made from water or snow;

·           Low-calorie ice cream;

2.      Ice cream mixes, including:

·           Liquid mixes;

·           Concentrated mixes; 

.           Powdered mixes.
