Telecommunication equipment, radio equipment and telecommunication terminal equipment
Draft revision of the Ordinance on Telecommunications Installations (FAV) (6 page(s), in French)
The Ordinance on Telecommunications Installations specifies the basic technical requirements with regard to telecommunications installations set out by the Swiss Federal Council. It regulates the conditions for placing telecommunications installations on the Swiss market, especially radio equipment.
The Ordinance has been mainly reviewed due to the partial revision of the Swiss Telecommunication Law. The main changes are as follows:
· Introduction of new definitions (fulfilment service provider and information society service provider) to take account of the placing of products on the market through e-commerce and to define their obligations.
· Clarification of the exception for military radio equipment.
· Clarification of the exception for radio equipment on board of aircrafts especially to take into account the new Regulation (EU) 2018/1139 and unmanned aircrafts.
The circle of authorised users of equipment intended for the country's security has been expanded to new authorities and the army. Conditions for the presentation and demonstration of such equipment have been clarified.
