The proposed Decree lays down the minimum percentage of pollen grains of thyme (Thymus type) or orange in honey harvested and bottled in Cyprus and indicated on their label as thyme or orange honey.
This may be determined by a Member State of the European Union for honey bottled within its territory, since in accordance with Article 2(2b) of Directive 2001/110EC the name of the honey may be supplemented by information referring to the plant origin, if the product comes wholly or mainly from the indicated source and possesses the organoleptic, physico-chemical and microscopic characteristics of the source.
