Revision of the Mandatory Standard SI 284 dealing with Cow's milk for drinking. The major differences between the old version and this new revised draft standard are as follows:

·         Removes the following requirements: Homogenization and homogenization effectiveness (paragraph 205), Cleanliness (paragraph 206), Acidity (paragraph 207), Fatless dry content (paragraph 210), Sealing of the product package (paragraph 211), Resistance of the product to falling impact (paragraph 212), Count of coliform bacteria (paragraph 308.2) and Preservability (paragraph 213);

·         Adds new requirements as follows: Protein content, pH value, Enterobacteriaceae and Lactose content;

·         All sections and sub-sections of the new revision will be mandatory. Both the old standard and the new revised standard will apply from date of entry into force of the new standard for a period of 24 months. During this time cow's milk for drinking could be tested according to the old or new standard.
