Proposal for a Decree of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Decree amending the Decree of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry on food hygiene (318/2021)

In 2011, Finland took advantage of the provision under Article 1(3)(e) of Regulation (EC) No 853/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council and notified the relevant national rules.

In accordance with the national rules in force, a hunter or a hunting club may supply wild venison meat to local retail establishments supplying the meat and products produced from it directly to the consumer, at the following maximum annual quantities for game: 10 deer, 50 roe dear and 30 white-tailed deer or other deer.
It is proposed to amend the national rules to allow a hunting club to supply local retail establishments with a quantity of meat corresponding to a maximum of 100 roe deer and a maximum of 150 white-tailed deer annually.
For an individual hunter, the maximum quantities would not change.
