Herbal and fruit tea for infants or toddlers

Fourth Ordinance amending the Fruit Juice and Drinks Ordinance

The purpose of the proposal is to prohibit the placing on the market of herbal and fruit teas intended for infants or young children to which sugar or other sweetening ingredients have been added. Also envisaged is a label indicating that sugar and other sweetening ingredients should not be added during preparation or before administration. A further labelling requirement ensures that these products are only marketed if the label contains information as to the age from which they can be used after the age of four months.
