Notice of extension of Emergency Mexican Official Standard NOM-EM-017-SCFI-2016, Devices with digital interfaces connected to public networks (Digital interfaces operating at 2,048 kbit/s and 34,368 kbit/s) (2 pages, in Spanish)

The notified Standard establishes the specifications for devices with digital interfaces connected to public telecommunications networks, and aims to prevent adverse effects on trade and the economy. If these specifications were not implemented at points of entry, it would be impossible to ensure the proper operation of such devices within the national territory, which could lead to interference that is harmful to other operating equipment, and therefore to telecommunications networks and services. Furthermore, the application of this Standard guarantees the interoperability of devices and public telecommunications networks. It is therefore imperative for the Ministry of the Economy to immediately issue this Emergency Mexican Official Standard on the importation, marketing and distribution of radiocommunications devices with digital interfaces connected to public telecommunications networks, the technical specifications for which are contained in Technical Provision IFT-005-2016 - Devices with digital interfaces connected to public networks (Digital interfaces operating at 2,048 kbit/s and 34,368 kbit/s), issued by the Institute.
