The Minister shall lay down, by Decree, maximum selling prices for a specific period of time for all or part ofthe products listed in Annex A, which shall apply when such products are placed on the market byundertakings under Article 5.

Law of 2024 on the Determination of Maximum Retail Prices of Products at Specific Points of Sale.

1.The purpose of the bill is the adoption, by the Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry, of a Law on thedetermination of maximum retail prices for basic food products, starting with water, at specific points of salewhere sufficient competition is by default not feasible, including airports, ports, sports venues, beaches,archaeological sites, museums, hospitals, theatres, cinemas and theme parks/zoos.

2. The ultimate objective of the bill is to protect and support consumers, especially in times of adverseeconomic conditions and external crises that adversely affect their economic interests.
3. The Minister shall lay down by Decree maximum selling prices for a specific period of time for all or part ofthe products listed in Annex A, which shall apply when such products are placed on the market byundertakings operating at points of sale determined in accordance with Article 5.
4. Maximum selling prices shall be determined following an investigation by the Competent Authority, takinginto account, among others, production/import costs, a reasonable percentage of operating costs and areasonable rate of profit.
5. For as long as a Decree issued in accordance with Article 4 of this Law is in force, undertakings sellingproducts at points of sale, specified in a Decree issued in accordance with Article 5 of this Law, shall have thefollowing obligations:
(a) not to apply a price higher than the maximum prices laid down in the Decree;
(b) to post a price list in a prominent place and easily visible by customers, in which the following shall bewritten in a special frame in capital and easy-to-read letters in Greek and English:
“ΓΙΑ ΟΡΘΙΟΥΣ ΠΕΛΑΤΕΣ ΔΙΑΤΙΘΕΝΤΑΙ ΤΑ ΑΚΟΛΟΥΘΑ ΠΡΟΙΟΝΤΑ ΣΕ ΕΛΕΓΧΟΜΕΝΕΣ ΤΙΜΕΣ”
“FOR CUSTOMERS THAT ARE NOT SEATED, THE FOLLOWING PRODUCTS ARE AVAILABLE ATREGULATED PRICES”·
(c) to ensure that at least one brand name per product offered for sale has the maximum price laid down in theDecree and that it is available in sufficient quantity.
