Order on extended producer responsibility for certain single-use plastic products

The draft provides for an obligation for producers who place certain single-use plastic products on themarket to register themselves or their representative in a producer register, cf. Sections 3 to 9 of the draft.

The draft contains provisions on an obligation for the producer to report information on the quantity andcategory of single-use plastic products placed on the market to the producer register organisation (DanishProducer Responsibility), cf. Section 10 of the draft, and an obligation to pay a fee for registration, cf. Section12 of the draft.
The draft also provides for an obligation for the producer to pay a fee per product category to theEnvironmental Protection Agency for the municipal and state clean-up and collection of waste from single-useplastic products, cf. Section 13 of the draft.
In addition, the draft contains provisions on self-monitoring of producers, collective schemes, administrativecooperation and retention of documents by the Environmental Protection Agency and the Danish ProducerResponsibility, and provisions on supervision, appeals and penalties.
