Public works and studies, Thermal insulation of tile roofs

Approval of seventy (70) Hellenic Technical Specifications (HTS), the application of which is mandatory in all public works and studies

ELOT TS 1501-03-06-02-03 Thermal insulation of tile roofs

Approval of seventy (70) Hellenic Technical Specifications (HTS), the application of which is mandatory in all public works and studies

ELOT TS 1501-03-06-02-03 Thermal insulation of tile roofs

This Specification refers a) to the thermal insulation of typical tile roofs made of load-bearing reinforced concrete elements at an angle or wooden elements, where the thermal insulations follow the usual construction methods and use industrially manufactured heat insulating products for buildings, and b) to their usual methods of application, depending on:

- whether the space under the roof will be used as a residence, which is also a parameter for the application position of the insulating coat;

- whether a waterproof membrane will be placed under the tiles in order to ensure additional sealing and to create ventilation zones between the tiles and the membrane as well as between the insulation and the membrane;

- the mechanisms used to reduce thermal bridges between the ending of the roof and the vertical elements of the envelope.

Heat insulating products produced onsite do not fall within the scope of this Specification.

The specification requires for an application design study to be conducted by a qualified engineer.
