Salvadoran Technical Regulation (RTS) 35.01.03:23, Information technology. Electronic signatures. Requirements for implementing the guarantee or action plan of certification service providers or electronic document storage service providers

On 17 April 2023, the Government of the Republic of El Salvador notified, in document G/TBT/N/SLV/226, draft Salvadoran Technical Regulation RTS 35.01.03:23, Information technology. Electronic signatures. Requirements for implementing the guarantee or action plan of certification service providers or electronic document storage service providers. That draft regulation established "the procedure for implementing the guarantee or action plan relating to compensation for damages in the event of infringements by certification service providers or electronic document storage service providers. It applies to all public or private legal persons accredited as a provider of certification services or a provider of electronic document storage services at the national level."

El Salvador hereby notifies WTO Members that this Addendum is being issued to extend the validity of the regulation for an indefinite period, as there is an ongoing need for a technical regulation that sets out the procedure for implementing the guarantee or action plan relating to compensation for damages in event of infringements by certification service providers or electronic document storage service providers, as required by law (Electronic Signature Law, Art. 43(d)(3)).
