The notified draft Mexican Official Standard establishes the safety specifications for portable machines fitted with an internal combustion engine that are intended mainly for agricultural, forestry and domestic use, which are marketed in the territory of the United Mexican States. It covers portable brush-cutters and grass trimmers, powered hand-held hedge-trimmers, portable chainsaws, and knapsack mist blowers, and contains specific sections for each type of machine (see Chapter 5: "Specifications and test methods"). Each of these sections refers to the specific Mexican standard containing the safety specifications and test methods relevant to the use for which the machine is intended.
