The existing Mandatory Standard, SI 20 part 2.7, dealing with portable luminaires for garden use, shall be declared voluntary. The safety requirements for these products are included under the scope of a different mandatory standard, SI 20 part 2.4, dealing with portable general-purpose luminaires.
The entry into force of this declaration is coordinated with the publication of the proposed Amendment no. 1 of SI 20 part 2.4, expending its scope to apply to portable luminaires for garden use, notified in G/TBT/N/ISR/1307. This declaration aims to remove unnecessary obstacles to trade and lower trade barriers.
