The Ministerial Decree No. 502 /2023 gives producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian standard ES 8697 which specifies requirements for ground recessed luminaries incorporating electric light sources for operation from supply voltages up to 1 000 V, for indoor or outdoor use, e.g. in gardens, yards, carriageways, parking lots, cycle ways, footways, pedestrian areas, swimming pools areas outside zones for SELV, nurseries and similar applications
