The Ministerial Decree No. 502 /2023 gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian standard ES 8692 which specifies requirements for fixed general purpose luminaries for use with electric light sources on supply voltages not exceeding 1000 V.

Worth mentioning is that this standard adopts the technical content of IEC 60598-2-1:2020
