The proposal regulates limits and measurement methods for exhaust pollutants from locomotive and its engines. The limits of exhaust pollutants of Stages I and II are equivalent to Stages IIIA and IIIB in the Regulation (EU) 2016/1628 of the European Parliament and of the Council, respectively. The technical requirements for type test, conformity of production and durability are also specified in the proposal.
