Strawberries (Fragaria x ananassa)

The notified text establishes phytosanitary requirements governing the importation of Fragaria x ananassa plants coming from the United States to be used as propagation material, drawing particular attention to the following:

·       Each consignment must be covered by a phytosanitary certificate issued by the phytosanitary authority of the United States that includes the additional declarations indicated in the Resolution.

·       The plants come from an officially certified production programme or from a germplasm nursery or repository controlled by the official plant health authority of the United States.

·       The consignment was inspected and was found to be free from the arthropods specified in the Resolution.

·       The production site was inspected at the optimal time for detecting pests, and the samples extracted from the mother plants underwent official laboratory analysis and were found to be free from Colletotrichum acutatum, Colletotrichum fragariae, Colletotrichum truncatum and Peronospora fragariae.

·       The plants derive from mother plants that were inspected and tested at the optimal time for detecting pests and found to be free from Erwinia amylovora, Ralstonia solanacearum race 1, Xanthomonas fragariae and Tobacco necrosis virus.

·       The consignment was found to be free from Aphelenchoides besseyi, Aphelenchoides fragariae, Ditylenchus dipsaci (excluding Chilean populations), Longidorus elongatus, Pratylenchus coffeae, Pratylenchus fallax, Pratylenchus zeae, Radopholus similis sensu lato, Scutellonema brachyurum, Xiphimena americanum sensu lato (excluding Chilean populations), Xiphinema americanum sensu stricto and Xiphinema diversicaudatum, based on an official laboratory analysis finding.
