Food Labelling Modernization

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has launched a public consultation on key proposals related to Food Label Modernization via an online discussion paper and questionnaire. This questionnaire will be open until 28 February 2017. CFIA is looking for feedback on key proposals, which include modernizing regulations and establishing a new approach to truthful and not misleading food labelling. Responses received as a result of this consultation will be considered in drafting the regulations. Once the regulations are developed, Canada will notify the draft measure through the World Trade Organization (WTO) .
