The normative act defines technical requirements for the design, construction and operation of new sewersystems, as well as for reconstructions of existing sewer systems

Draft Regulation amending and supplementing Regulation No RD-02-20-8 of 2013 on the design, constructionand operation of sewer systems

The draft legal act proposes the following changes:

— the scope of the Regulation has been clarified;
— it is repealed Annex 1 with requirements for minimum protection zones for pumping plants and waste watertreatment plants for less than 150 000 e.g. and a new requirement is proposed in the main text of theRegulation;
— a new concept of ‘minimum design lifetime’ of 25 years after commissioning has been introduced todetermine the required hydraulic capacity in the design of the sewer system;
— the requirements have been clarified for: application of computer models to simulate run-off when designingsewer networks; determination of daily average water quantities for waste water; rainwater harvesting facilities;dispatching facilities;
— a large number of requirements have been clarified in the design and construction of sewer facilities;
— some definitions of the terms used in the Regulation have been clarified;
— the requirements set out in Annexes 1a, 3, 4, 6, 7 and 10 of the current Regulation have been clarified;
— for the sake of clarity and unambiguous interpretation, editorials of individual requirements have beenmade, relevant product standards have been cited, and the existing legislative acts referred to inRegulation No RD-02-20-8 of 2013 have been updated.
A mutual recognition clause in respect of construction products is included in Article 5(3) of the currentlegislative act.
