Marking consumer packaging of spirits with an excise stamp.

Draft Decree amending the Decree of the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic No 252/2014stipulating the details, execution and price of excise stamps intended for marking consumer packaging ofspirits.

In accordance with § 51(5) of Act No 530/2011, the Financial Directorate of the Slovak Republic, with theconsent of the printing works, may, at the request of a customer of excise stamps, consent to a differentdimension for excise stamps for marking consumer packaging of spirits as laid down in the aforementionedDecree.

The Decree stipulates the dimensions of excise stamps intended for marking consumer packaging of spiritsand the volumes of consumer packaging of spirits for which they may be used. However, excise stampcustomers repeatedly seek authorisation to use the stamps for a different volume of consumer packaging ofspirits. This is mainly due to the specific shape of the consumer packaging of spirits and related technicalproblems with their labelling.
