Identification of Dogs Regulations 2024

Ireland intends to introduce a regulation on the identification of dogs. This will update and modernise the2015 Microchipping of Dogs Regulation. The proposed changes are informed by nine years of operationalexperience with the existing regulations, feedback from local authorities and approved microchipping

databases in Ireland, and discussions on the improvement of dog identification to support the control of dogs.
