Proposal for amendment to legal inspection requirements for steel bars for concrete reinforcement (3 page(s), in English; 2 page(s), in Chinese)

Steel bars for concrete reinforcement are subject to mandatory inspection under the certification system of the Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI). The BSMI is proposing to adopt the revised CNS 560 "Steel bars for concrete reinforcement" (2018) as the new testing and inspection standard, to replace the current CNS 560 (2014). It is proposed that, beginning from 1 May 2020, steel bars for concrete reinforcement covered in the inspection scope must comply with the revised CNS 560 when imported or placed on the market. The conformity assessment procedure of the steel bars for concrete reinforcement is the Registration of Product Certification (PRC) Scheme.
