The notified Regulation establishes the operational technical specifications and strategies for the epidemiological surveillance, prevention and control of Newcastle disease.

It applies to poultry and other species susceptible to Newcastle disease in El Salvador. It also applies to the owners and administrators of poultry farms, irrespective of their level of technification, including backyard birds; as well as to veterinarians, poultry technicians, the poultry-meat processing industry, manufacturers, importers, distributors and sellers of veterinary pharmaceuticals, veterinary diagnostic laboratories, manufacturers and distributors of concentrated poultry feed, transport services for poultry, poultry products and by-products, whether of domestic origin, imported or for export, and others involved in poultry activities.
