Proposed amendments to the "Types, Standards, and Test Methods of Cosmetic Colour Additives" (9 page(s), in Korean)

The amendments seek to:

1)    Establish new use restrictions on the following six color additives that cause eye irritation: Dibromofluorescein, Eosine YS, Phloxine B, Phloxine BK, Tetrachlorotetrabromofluorescein, Tetrabromofluorescein.

2)    Expand the ban on two color additives (Amaranth, New Coccine): The two color additives which are prohibited from use in cosmetics for infants would be additionally banned in cosmetics that intend to label and promote as cosmetics for children.

3)    Add the color additive "Pigment Red 5" used in solid soaps for face wash* to "Annex 1. The list of color additives for cosmetics". 

*Solid soaps for face wash will be classified as cosmetics as of 31 December 2019.
