Major Contents:

A.    Application for Informing Change(s) regarding Registration Exemption Confirmation, etc. (Article 21, Article 31)

1)    Once R&D substance is confirmed its exemption from registration, etc., it does not need to obtain new exemption confirmation when its information is changed (e.g. R&D period, manufactured or imported volume, etc.). It is only required to notify the Korea Environment Corporation (KECO) of the change(s) by submitting an application.

2)    The Ministry of Environment segments standards for imposing a fine to deal with the case where change(s) are not notified, and entrusts relevant works to KECO.

B.     Entrustment of Works regarding Permission to Use Hazard Data (Article 31)   

1)    What business operators need is hazard data that is produced for hazard assessment by the Ministry of Environment, not the results of hazard assessment itself. Therefore, business operators should obtain a permission to use the hazard data from the Minister of Environment. 

 2)         Works regarding the above use permission and cancellation are transferred from the National Institute for Environmental Research (NIER) to the Korea Environment Corporation (KECO).
