Revision of the Mandatory Standard SI 994 part 1, dealing with air conditioners. This draft standard revision adopts both the International Standard IEC 60335-2-40 - Edition 6.0: 2018-01 and the American Standard UL 60335-2-40 Second edition: September 15, 2017, and allows for compliance with either. These adoptions relate only to the requirements applying to air-conditioners and include changes and national deviations that appear in the standard's Hebrew section.

All requirements of the new revised standard will be declared mandatory, except the national sub-section 7.12.4.206, appearing in both routes of compliance, requiring to add instructions for installing a special device to prevent the release of refrigerants by unauthorized people. This revision shall enter into force on 7 March 2022, similar to the entry into force of the adopted International Standard in Europe.
