The requirements of the existing Israel Standard, SI 1003 part 3.2, dealing with the permissible limits of lead and cadmium from glass hollowware, and of its Amendment 1 (March 2019), shall be declared mandatory. This declaration is in-line with the mandatory standardization objective to protect human health.

This standard adopts the International Standard ISO 7086-2 - Second edition: 2000-03-01 with a few changes that appear in the standard's Hebrew section, including a new section 5 detailing national marking requirements.
