The requirements of the existing Israel Standard, SI 1003 part 2.2, dealing with the permissible limits of lead and cadmium from vitreous and porcelain enamelled metalware, and of Amendment 1 (March 2019), shall be declared mandatory. This declaration is in-line with the mandatory standardization objective to protect human health.
This standard adopts the International Standard ISO 4531-2 - First edition: 1998-10-1 with a few changes that appear in the standard's Hebrew section, including a new section 5 detailing national marking requirements.
