The requirements of the existing standard, SI 5383, dealing with vehicle lifts, shall be declared mandatory, except for the national deviation appears in paragraph 7.4 of the European route of compliance. This declaration is inline with the mandatory standardization objective to protect human safety.

This standard adopts both the European Standard EN 1493: August 2010 and the American Standard ANSI/ALCTV: 2017 and allows for compliance with either. The standard's Hebrew section includes the following national deviations:

A. In the European route of compliance:

·         Changes the normative references (paragraph 2);

·         Adds to paragraph 7 dealing with 'Information for use' new requirements for Hebrew instructions and labelling.

B. In the American route of compliance: 

·        Changes the referenced standards (paragraph 6).
