Draft Commission Regulation laying down ecodesign requirements for refrigerating appliances pursuant to Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council and repealing Commission Regulation (EC) No 643/2009 (9 pages +Annexes 17 pages, in English)

This draft Commission Regulation sets minimum energy performance, reparability, recyclability and information requirements for refrigerating appliances, as there exists a cost-effective potential to limit their energy consumption and improve their contribution to resource efficiency objectives. In accordance with Ecodesign Directive 2009/125/EC, products not meeting these requirements will not be allowed to be placed on the EU market. The draft Regulation is based on the findings of two technical, environmental and economic studies, which have been carried out with stakeholders. The draft Regulation repeals Regulation (EC) No 643/2009 with regard to ecodesign requirements for household refrigerating appliances.
