Proyecto del Reglamento Técnico Ecuatoriano PRTE INEN 162 "Accesorios de Carga para Vehículos Eléctricos" (Draft Ecuadorian Technical Regulation PRTE INEN 162, "Charging accessories for electric vehicles") (13 pages, in Spanish)

The notified Technical Regulation establishes the requirements to be met by connectors, chargers, cables and batteries for the charging of electric vehicles, prior to the marketing of domestic and imported products, with the aim of protecting human safety and preventing deceptive practices.

It applies to the following products:

·         Socket outlets, plugs, sockets, connectors, vehicle inlets and cables for conductive charging of electric vehicles and/or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles for any supply voltage.

·         Equipment on board or not on board (chargers) for charging electric vehicles and/or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles that operate on standardized AC supply voltages up to 1,000 V, on DC supply voltages up to 1,500 V, and to provide electric power for any of the additional services of vehicles if required when connected to the power network.

·        Batteries used for the propulsion of electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles.
