The notified Ecuadorian Technical Regulation establishes the requirements to be met by safety valves, prior to the marketing of domestic and imported products, with the aim of protecting human safety and preventing deceptive practices.

It applies to the following products:

1.    Safety valves, whether or not pilot operated;

2.    Safety valves, regardless of the fluid for which they have been designed;

3.    Safety valves with a fluid flow diameter of 6 mm or more that are used for set pressures of 0.01 MPa (0.1 manometric bar) and above. There is no temperature limit. 

It does not apply to: Deaerating and pressure-regulating valves used with liquid petroleum gas (LPG) and other inflammable compressed gases.
