The notified Ecuadorian Technical Regulation establishes the requirements to be met by microwave ovens, prior to the marketing of domestic and imported products, with the aim of protecting human safety and health, and the environment, and preventing deceptive practices.
It applies to microwave ovens with a rated voltage not exceeding 250 V AC. It does not apply to appliances used to heat food and beverages in laboratories.
