Unrooted Vitis spp. cuttings

Establece requisitos fitosanitarios de importación para estacas sin enraizar de Vitis spp. Proveniente de Estados unidos de Norteamérica, y modifica resoluciones N°5.479 de 2006, 1.423 de 2010 y 5.073 de 2012 (Phytosanitary requirements for the importation of unrooted Vitis spp. cuttings from the United States of America, and amendment of Resolutions No. 5.479 of 2006, No. 1.423 of 2010 and No. 5.073 of 2012).

Phytosanitary requirements are established for the importation of unrooted Vitis spp. cuttings from the United States for use as propagation material.

A summary of the provisions contained in the notified document follows:

1.1. The consignment must be covered by a phytosanitary certificate issued by the official phytosanitary authority of the United States of America (USDA/APHIS) and including the additional declarations indicated.

2. Each shipment will be inspected at the point of entry. Upon detection of quarantine pests, the application of phytosanitary measures will be assessed.

3. The material in its entirety must undergo post-entry quarantine.

4. If the material comes from a facility officially recognized by the Agriculture and Livestock Service, in accordance with the provisions of Resolution No. 2.878 of 2004, it must satisfy all the phytosanitary requirements and measures established in the Resolution.

5. Interspecific hybrids of Vitis spp. are subject to the additional declaration requirements established in the notified resolution.

6. The importer must declare the genetic status of materials genetically modified by modern technology and comply with Agriculture and Livestock Service regulations.

7. Resolution No. 5.479 of 2006 is amended as follows:

7.1 The words "and for unrooted Vitis vinifera cuttings" are deleted from the first paragraph of the operative part.

7.2 The subheading "Vine (Vitis vinifera), unrooted cuttings" and all its subsections are deleted from point 1.2 of the operative part.

7.3 The words "and those of Vitis vinifera must be free of roots and leaves" are deleted from the second bullet point of article 3 of the operative part.

8. Resolution No. 5.073 of 2012 is amended as follows:

8.1 The words "and for unrooted Vitis candicans, Vitis champini, Vitis cinerea, Vitis riparia, Vitis rufotomentosa, Vitis rupestris and Vitis (=Muscadinia) rotundifolia cuttings" are deleted from the first paragraph of the operative part.

8.2 The subheading "Vitis candicans, Vitis champini, Vitis cinerea, Vitis riparia, Vitis (=Muscadinia) rotundifolia, Vitis rufotomentosa, Vitis rupestris, unrooted cuttings" and all its subsections are deleted from point 1.2 of clause 1.

8.3 The words "and must, in the case of Vitis candicans, Vitis champini, Vitis cinerea, Vitis riparia, Vitis rufotomentosa, Vitis rupestris and Vitis (=Muscadinia) rotundifolia, be free of roots and leaves" are deleted from the third bullet point of clause 3.

8.4 The words "Vitis or" are deleted from clause 8. 

9. Resolution No. 1.423 of 2010 is amended by deleting the reference to the species Vitis vinifera from point 1.1 of clause 1.
