United Arab Emirates is regulating the importation of domestic and wild birds and their untreated by-product, day-old chicks, hatching eggs and poultry products from the United Kingdom. Language(s): . Number of pages:

Following the notification published by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) regarding the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Virus (HPAI) in the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates is applying a precautionary sanitary measure to prevent the risk of introducing HPAI virus through the imports of live birds and their products from the United Kingdom.

These measures include:

1.    Continue to allow the importation of domestic and wild birds and their untreated by-products, day-old chicks and hatching eggs from the United Kingdom, according to the agreed health certificates;

2.    Regulating the import of poultry meat and its non-heat-treated products according to the health certificate for exporting meat and meat products from the United Kingdom to the United Arab Emirates, accompanying the consignments for releasing purpose;

3.    Regulating the import of table eggs and its non-heat-treated products according to the health certificate for exporting table eggs from the United Kingdom to the United Arab Emirates, accompanying the consignments for releasing purpose;

4.    Continue to allow the importation of heat-treated poultry products (treated meat and treated egg products) from the United Kingdom;

5.    Consignments of table eggs and poultry from Cheshire West, Chester and Herefordshire that were produced after 14 October 2020 (in addition to any area where the disease appears later) are not allowed to be exported to the United Arab Emirates until the health certificate forms are agreed with the British side;

6.    Consignments of table eggs and poultry from Richmond that were produced after 28 November 2020 (in addition to any area where the disease appears later) are not allowed to be exported to the United Arab Emirates until the health certificate forms are agreed with the British side.
