Articles of precious metal

Draft Regulation amending Regulation No 47 of the Minister of Economic Affairs and Communications of 22 March 2004 “Shape of Fineness Marks and Combined Sponsor’s and Fineness Marks and Procedure for Marking of Articles of Precious Metal with Sponsor’s Marks and Fineness Marks or with Combined Sponsor’s and Fineness Marks”

This Regulation is enacted on the basis of Section 9(2) of the Precious Metal Articles Act and point 2 of Government of the Republic Regulation No 258 of 9 October 2003 "Authorisation for enacting legislation under the Precious Metal Articles Act”.

Section 6(2) of the Precious Metal Articles Act provides for an obligation on an undertaking to mark the articles of precious metal with a sponsor’s marks and fineness mark, on the basis of which the person responsible for the article of precious metal (sponsor’s mark) and the type of precious metal and the content of the alloy (fineness mark) can be identified. “Shape of Fineness Marks and Combined Sponsor’s and Fineness Marks and Procedure for Marking of Articles of Precious Metal with Sponsor’s Marks and Fineness Marks or with Combined Sponsor’s and Fineness Marks” regulates the form of the fineness mark to be applied to articles of precious metal and the marking of articles of precious metal with fineness marks and sponsor’s marks.
