Draft decree laying down details on the conditions for slaughtering farmed game and beef cattle kept in the open with a firearm with a free projectile where the animal is kept and at a farm slaughterhouse

§ 1 regulates the subject matter.
§ 2 to 7 regulate, on the basis of the requirements from application practice, the details of the slaughtering of farmed game and bovine animals reared in the open with a firearm with free projectile at the place where the animal is kept and for directly related activities, including the particulars of an application for authorisation for this method of slaughter pursuant to § 41(21) of Act No 39/20007 on veterinary care, as amended, and the conditions to be met by a farm in which the slaughter of those animals may be authorised. The conditions for slaughtering and slaughtering activities are regulated to ensure compliance with hygiene requirements under Regulation (EC) 852/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2004 on the hygiene of foodstuffs, as amended, Regulation (EC) No 853/2004 of 29 April 2004 laying down specific hygiene rules for food of animal origin, as amended, and Council Regulation (EC) No 1099/2009 of 24 September 2009 on the protection of animals at the time of killing, as amended.

§ 8 regulates the details of the conditions for slaughtering domestic ungulates and farmed game at a farm slaughterhouse, which is governed by § 41a of Act No 39/2007, as amended, on the basis of amendment No 405/2021. In relation to farm slaughterhouses with an integrated cutting plant, the adoption at the national level is recommended of selected technical and hygiene conditions resulting from the requirements of Annex III to Regulation (EC) No 853/2004 on the basis of Article 10(4)(b) and Annex II of Regulation (EC) No 852/2004 on the basis of Article 13(4)(b). Aside from point (f), the proposed national regime in this respect relates to the modification of the requirements of Annex III to Regulation (EC) No 853/2004.
