The Swedish Transport Agency’s regulations and general advice on requirements for roads, streets, tramways and metros (building rules)

The regulations are issued on the basis of the Planning and Building Ordinance (2011:338) and contain provisions laying down technical requirements to be met in the construction of roads, streets, metros and tramways and associated facilities. The provisions stipulate requirements concerning Safety in use, Safety in the event of fire (but not tunnels), Protection with regard to hygiene, health and the environment, as well as those aspects of the requirements concerning load-bearing capacity, stability and durability that are not covered by the Swedish Transport Agency’s regulations and general advice (TSFS 2018:57) on the application of Eurocodes. The regulations also include requirements and general advice related to climate change adaptation

of the ground-based transport infrastructure.
