Climate declaration of buildings

The Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning’s regulations on climate declaration for buildings BFS 20xx:xx

The regulation has the same purpose as the draft act and ordinance on the climate declaration of buildings – to reduce the climate impact when new buildings are constructed. The law and ordinance have been notified with notification number 2020/0439/S and 2020/0440/S respectively. The regulation contains more detailed rules on the scope of the declaration and the data to be used in calculating the climate impact. According to the regulation, the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning shall provide generic climate data on climate impact in a database that is freely available. The database is available in both Swedish and English.

There are also provisions on registering the Climate Declaration in the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning’s climate declaration register.
The provisions of the regulation have been assessed as proportionately and necessary for the act and ordinance on climate declarations to achieve its purpose.
This notification also applies to Directive 2006/123/EC on services in the internal market.
