Systems for heating buildings and systems for air conditioning in buildings

The Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning’s regulations and general advice (2007:4) on energy declaration for buildings

In order to implement new rules in the EU Energy Performance Directive, requirements for inspections of heating systems and air conditioning systems were introduced in May 2020 in §§ 8a-10 and 12 of the Act (2006:985) on energy declarations for buildings and in §§ 8-9 of the Ordinance (2006:1592) on energy declarations for buildings. The Act’s requirement for inspection applies to buildings that have a system for heating and air conditioning with an effective rated output over 70 kilowatts. The Ordinance sets out a number of exemptions from the requirement for inspection.

In order to clarify the provisions of the Act and the Ordinance, the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning has now produced proposals for regulations and general advice that will facilitate the application of the rules.
