The Regulation applies to the safety requirements for lights and other additional devices installed in vehicles for their specialised use as well as the technical requirements and the installation of the signal and warning lights, the reflectors, the reflective markings and the audible warning devices required for the specialised use of rescue vehicles, police vehicles, Finnish Customs vehicles, Finnish Border Guard vehicles, ambulances and emergency care vehicles.

Special lights, reflectors and reflective markings for vehicles as well as audible warning devices for emergency vehicles

The Regulation would amend the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Regulation on the technical requirements for vehicle signal and warning lights, work and ancillary lights, audible warning devices for emergency vehicles and the reflectors and reflective markings for certain vehicles, and their installation in the vehicles (TRAFICOM/527425/03.04.03.00/2019), issued under the Vehicles Act (1090/2002). The amendment to the Regulation is intended to take into account the amendments proposed for the use of taxi lights which are to be made to the Road Traffic Act in connection with the modernisation of the regulation on taxis and to add requirements for the size of taxi lights.
