Regulation of the Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development on the length of withdrawal periods preceding obtaining products of animal origin intended to be labelled as products free from genetically modified organisms for which no genetically modified feed is used

The draft Regulation lays down withdrawal periods concerning feeding certain animal species or technological groups of animals for which it will not be acceptable to use genetically modified feed.

The withdrawal periods will immediately precede the moment of obtaining foodstuffs from such animals that are intended to be labelled as ‘GMO-free’, i.e. milk, meat, eggs, and fishery products. The list of selected animal species takes into account that foodstuffs derived from them should be available to consumers.

The proposed provisions take into account the solutions that are currently in effect in legal systems of other EU countries.
