Operation of vehicles and their systems, components and separate technical units in road traffic.

Implementing Decree of the Ministry of Transport and Construction of the Slovak Republic amending Implementing Decree No 134/2018 of the Ministry of Transport and Construction of the Slovak Republic laying down the details of the operation of vehicles in road traffic, as amended by Implementing Decree No .../2019.

This draft Implementing Decree amends Implementing Decree No 134/2018 of the Ministry of Transport and Construction of the Slovak Republic laying down the details of the operation of vehicles in road traffic, as amended by Implementing Decree No .../2019, which was notified in accordance with Directive (EU) 2015/1535 as Notification 2017/0599/SK and Notification 2019/144/SK.

The draft Implementing Decree aims to

a) make the necessary modifications to transpose Council Directive 96/53/EC of 25 July 1996 laying down for certain road vehicles circulating within the Community the maximum authorised dimensions in national and international traffic and the maximum authorised weights in international traffic, which was amended by Decision (EU) 2019/984 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 5 June 2019 amending Council Directive 96/53/EC as regards the time limit for the implementation of the special rules regarding maximum length for cabs delivering improved aerodynamic performance, energy efficiency and safety performance, and Regulation (EU) 2019/1242 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 June 2019 setting CO2 emission performance standards for new heavy-duty vehicles and amending Regulations (EC) No 595/2009 and (EU) 2018/956 of the European Parliament and of the Council and Council Directive 96/53/EC,

b) update certain references in relation to the application of Regulation (EU) 2018/858 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 May 2018 on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles, amending Regulations (EC) No 715/2007 and (EC) No 595/2009 and repealing Directive 2007/46/EC,

c) lay down the technical requirements for bicycles with an auxiliary motor and scooters with an auxiliary motor not covered by Regulation (EU) No 168/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council

of 15 January 2013 on the approval and market surveillance of two- or three-wheel vehicles and quadricycles.
