The draft lays down detailed technical requirements regarding the safety of operation, repair and modernisation of charging stations and charging points which form part of the public road transport charging infrastructure. The draft sets out the provisions which apply to the operation, repair and modernisation of a charging station/point. It includes provisions indicating some of the necessary elements with which a charging station/point must be equipped, i.e. a statutory plate, fire protections, charging manual, figurative hazard signs. The draft also contains the provisions defining a process for dealing with a technical failure of a charging station/point, as well as the manner in which the installation must be protected against mechanical damage. Furthermore, it has been noted that a charging station/point must be located outside of an explosion-risk area and that any inspection, maintenance, repair and modernisation works must be documented in such a way as to confirm their course. Moreover, technical requirements have been clarified for output sockets and vehicle connectors for publicly available charging stations, and the content of the equipment’s service manual has been determined.

It sets out the types, dates and procedures for inspections carried out by the Office of Technical Inspection. The types of documents which the station/point operator must attach to the request for inspection submitted to the Office of Technical Inspection have been indicated, as well as the fee for an opinion on the legal compliance of a planned charging station/point and for carrying out a technical inspection of a charging station/point with a view to verifying its safe operation, repair and modernisation.
