Draft decree on highway safety devices for motorcyclists

The notified draft provision is structured in three articles and an annex (Annex A) containing technical instructions for the installation of highway safety devices for motorcyclists, integrating the previous decrees governing the use and installation of highway containment devices.

The draft regulates the use and installation of continuous highway safety devices for motorcyclists on discontinuous highway safety barriers by identifying the areas to be protected and the installation requirements for highways. It also establishes the purpose of the highway safety devices for motorcyclists and the terms for their application on CE marked highway containment barriers, on already installed non-CE marked barriers compliant with Ministerial Decree 223/1992 and on already installed non-CE marked barriers not compliant with Ministerial Decree 223/1992.
