Draft Order of the Director of the State Food and Veterinary Service amending the Order of the Director of the State Food and Veterinary Service No B1-725 of 29 December 2005 on approving veterinary requirements for the placing on the market of wild game meat in small quantities

The State Food and Veterinary Service, following Article 13(3) of the Regulation (EC) No 852/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2004 on the hygiene of foodstuffs (OJ 2004, Special Edition, Chapter 13, Volume 34, p. 319), as amended by Commission Regulation (EU) No 579/2014 of 28 May 2014 (OJ 2014 L 160, p. 14), Article 1(3)(c) and (e) of Regulation (EC) No 853/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2004 laying down specific hygiene rules for the hygiene of foodstuffs (OJ 2004. Special Edition, Chapter 3, Volume 45, p. 14), as amended by the Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/1981 of 31 October 2017 (OJ 2017 L 285, p. 10), Article 6(3) of the Law of the Republic of Lithuania on veterinary activities, Article 9(5), point 2 of the Law of the Republic of Lithuania on food, and Resolution No 617 of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania of 20 May 1999 on the exchange of information on standards, technical regulations and the conformity assessment procedures implementing the Directive (EU) 2015/1535 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 September 2015 laying down a procedure for the provision of information in the field of technical regulations and of rules on Information Society services (OJ 2015 L 241, p. 1), has drafted the Order of the Director of the State Food and Veterinary Service amending the Order of the Director of the State Food and Veterinary Service No B1-725 of 29 December 2005 on the approval of the veterinary requirements for the placing on the market of wild game meat in small quantities” (hereinafter referred to as the draft Order).

The veterinary requirements for placing on the market of wild game meat in small quantities aim to establish general requirements for the handling of wild game meat, requirements for production facilities and equipment as well as special requirements for the handling of wild game meat (storage, packaging and labelling) and for the staff handling it.
